Bamboo Clothing that is Soft & Eco-friendly from Cariloha
By Savory Savings & Gloriously Green Gal
When it comes to clothes for both me and the hubby, we want clothes that are high-quality, look good AND that are good for the environment. With so many companies trying to make a quick dollar and not worrying where their textiles come from. Cariloha brings to the fashion table a unique and wonderful line of fashion forward bamboo clothing! Inspired by their time in the sun and on the beach, Cariloha has expanded their line of bamboo products, promoting its naturally cool behaviors and green commitment to the Earth. We received an assortment of bamboo clothing in exchange for our honest opinions.
What did I think?
I had read that bamboo fibers are 3 degrees cooler than cotton, but I did not really believe it until I saw it in action! We went out for brunch for Mother’s Day and hubby wore his very handsome Bamboo Short Sleeve button down. We were seated outside and as it so happened, Mother’s Day was the one day this month that Mother Nature decided to play nicely with us in Wisconsin! The sun was out (and hot!) – hubby remarked on how comfortable he felt in the shirt, despite the heat and that he felt as though the shirt was pulling any sweat from his skin – which as it turns out, bamboo can wick away moisture to help ensure your comfort! This shirt is super soft and comfortable. It fits well and is very flattering. I noticed a few ladies at the Mitchell Park Domes pulling a double take on my hubby that day because this shirt really pulled together a sensual look!
A few days before that, hubby was wearing Bamboo Tee. He decided to bike to the mall for haircut and did not change his shirt. Now, I will be honest here, he has done this in the past and by time he gets home (about 7 miles each way), he has sweated and dried – twice. For those in the know, sweat itself isn’t the smelly part, it is when it dries and then is “reactivated” that you get the stink – so I was worried he had just ruined this beautifully soft bamboo shirt. As it turns out, this bamboo tee was able to help keep his sweat to a minimum, and I can vouch that he returned home with a far less strong version of that “I just road my bike nearly 15 miles and am sweaty” aroma!
