Utah Business magazine this week honored Cariloha as one of the fastest-growing companies in Utah at the Fast 50 Awards event in Salt Lake City. Also honored were the Emerging Eight businesses that haven’t been in operation as long but are already speeding ahead of the competition.
The Fast 50 companies are ranked based on five years of compound annual growth, with a revenue component. The annual Fast 50 event recognizes the companies for their entrepreneurialism and innovative tactics. The companies will also be featured in the September issue of Utah Business magazine.
Hundreds of Utah-based companies seek to be on the list every year, and only 50 companies make the list. Cariloha ranked no. 39 and was ahead of such outstanding companies as Nu Skin, VLCM, IntegraCore, and many others.
That there are so many companies growing so quickly in Utah is remarkable, said Utah Business’ Sam Urie in his welcoming address. Quick growth is indicative of fundamental strengths in a company, he continued: “For me, when a company has been growing quickly over a number of years, it means two things: First, it means you have a product that is meeting a real need. And second, it means that organizationally, you’ve learned how to manage the growth, how to scale up and how to develop leadership in the company.”
The 2015 Fast 50 was dominated by examples of and accompanied by illustrations of record growth and progression in industry. The Fast 50 program continues to recognize innovative companies that have the concepts and strategies in place to sustain record growth.
Urie also noted that the success of these businesses “benefits the entire state through new jobs created, new homes and offices built, and new demand for professional services.” He added, “Your success strengthens Utah’s economy and bolsters our business ecosystem.”
Cariloha was also named as one of America’s fastest-growing companies on Inc. Magazine’s 500|5000 list in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016. Founder and CEO, Jeff Pedersen, was recognized as CEO of the Year, and as an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur the Year® finalist in 2013 and 2014.
