The city of Tuscaloosa this week welcomed its first Cariloha store to the state of Alabama. The city is located along the Black Warrior River in western Alabama and is home to Bryant-Denny Stadium where the famous University of Alabama’s Crimson Tide football team plays. Antebellum homes like the Battle-Friedman House and Jemison-Van de Graaff Mansion also mark the area’s history.
New Cariloha Tuscaloosa store owners, Dallas and Tonya Skinner, first discovered Cariloha while on an Alaskan cruise. They tried the ultra-soft bamboo underwear and the rest is history! Their 1,838-square-foot store is located in Tuscaloosa’s popular downtown shopping district, which is also home to delicious southern-cooking restaurants and eclectic shops and museums.
“We feel like this new [Cariloha] brand and product offering, being the first of its kind in Alabama and in a city like Tuscaloosa, will be very successful, just as the rest of our city has been with new brands.” said the Skinners. “Our location is one of the best spots in town that offers many factors for natural foot traffic and easy access with any weather conditions.”
In recent years, Tuscaloosa has been named the “Most Livable City in America,” one of America’s “100 Best Communities for Young People,” one of the “50 Best College Towns,” and one of the “Best Places to Launch a Small Business.”
The Cariloha Store Design Team organized and built out this world-class store, featuring all the latest Cariloha bamboo “Feel the Difference” displays, fixtures, graphics and products.
