Next time you’re entertaining house guests, one thing you’ll want to make sure is spic and span is your guest bathroom. Here to help you get your bathroom clean and comfortable for your guests is our friend over at Pawsitive Living with some great tips and tricks:
I don’t really have guests stay over that often, just during the holiday season or during the summer months. But when I do, I like my guests to feel as welcome as possible. I have a guest room ready, but I also have a guest bathroom set up for their comfort. For your guests to have a warm and cozy experience, here is a list of tips for turning your guest bathroom into a spa-like retreat.
Sparkling Clean. Make sure the entire guest bathroom is squeaky clean. The chrome on all your faucets should not have any watermarks. Remove any grime and mildew buildup in shower stalls. This may sound obvious, but I’ve seen it in several homes. A simple mixture of 50/50 water and vinegar will take care of this.
Freshen Up. Have a vase of fresh flowers and a pretty bowl filled with aromatic potpourri on the vanity. Put out mildly scented soaps in a soap dish on the sink and one in the shower. You may even want to have a scented candle available for their use. A bathroom filled with a lovely subtle fragrance will make a long soak even more relaxing.
Brighten Up. Place the old shower curtain and liner with a snazzy new pattern. And what about that ratty old bathroom mat? Replace it with a plush and eco-friendly Bamboo Bath Mat like the ones from Cariloha. Bamboo fabrics are incredibly soft, highly absorbent, and quick drying, so every time you step in or out of the shower, you’ll feel the difference. The mats are made from Cariloha’s own special blend of 70% viscose from bamboo and 30% organic cotton. They’re durable, wash easily and they maintain their velvety softness.
Supply Luxury Linens. For your family’s everyday use, it’s okay to have mismatched and somewhat worn towels. But when guests come to stay, splurge on some thick and cozy Towels Sets from Cariloha.
Cariloha proves that plush towels don’t just belong in the spa. Their towels combine plush perfection and luxury softness to give your skin the ultimate in comfort. They have natural moisture-wicking and odor-resistant properties making them ideal for your family and friends. We love their sumptuous and stylish towels. They really are the softest and coziest towels we have in our home. So if you want to pamper your guests, have these lush towels ready for their use.
Stock Your Bathroom. Provide any little amenities your guests may have forgotten to pack, such as cotton balls, q-tips, toothpaste, a toothbrush, floss, feminine hygiene products, body lotions, a razor and shaving foam. Even the best-organized travelers will forget something, so having these necessary toiletries readily on hand will save them frustration. You can also place shampoo, conditioner, soap, and a razor in the shower for their convenience.
Indulge Your Guests. If you really want to offer a spa-like ambience, pick up some sea sponges, bath salts, loofahs and bath brushes. They’re inexpensive items you can pick up at your local dollar store. Fill a decorative basket with an assortment of these items to treat your guests.
Plenty of Toilet Paper. You know how it is when you have to use a public washroom, you look inside each stall to see which has enough toilet paper. Offer the same consideration to your guests. Don’t embarrass them by not having the guest bathroom fully stocked with soft toilet paper. No one wants to ask for more toilet paper.
Provide a Hamper. Just like in a hotel, guests can choose to reuse their towels or have fresh linen every day. If your guests are used to daily fresh towels, then provide them with a clean set of towels and a laundry hamper to toss the dirty ones.
Provide a Waste Basket. There aren’t too many ways to make a waste basket sexy, but they are essential. Line your garbage can with a scent bag. It distracts from any odors and is easy to dispose of each day.
Air Fresheners. Bathrooms can get stinky and are a common source of embarrassment. To eliminate bathroom odors, make sure your fan is working optimally and provide your guests with some spritz air fresheners.
Following these few simple suggestions will not only make you look like a fabulous host, but your guest will also enjoy the experience of staying in your home.
