The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and summer is in full force. Your opportunities for adventure are endless, but how can you make the most of it and where do you start? Attempting all the options could be overwhelming and may result in staying home and doing nothing.
While days spent at home are a great way to recharge, staying cooped up is never a good idea for your long-term health. That’s why today we’re guiding you on a path toward the best summer day ever.
Rise and Shine, Well Rested
First things first – get a good night’s rest. One of the best ways to do that is to sleep on a Cariloha mattress with Cariloha sheets and pillows. These essential bedding items are comfier than words can describe.
Being made from sustainable bamboo viscose, you’ll experience a dreamy, comfy oasis in your home that’ll have you drifting off faster and sleeping deeper.
The naturally thermal-regulating properties of these bamboo bedding items will help you sleep cooler and wake up ready to take on the day.
Breakfast… al Fresco!
There’s something about partaking in the morning sunrise that makes you feel all the feels. The calmness of the morning, plus fueling your body with a good breakfast can set the tone for a better day ahead. Make sure you’re getting plenty of proteins, carbs and healthy fats. A well-balanced breakfast will keep you fuller longer, giving you more energy and preventing unhealthy snacking.
Rushing out the door with a protein bar isn’t going to help your day in the long run. Make sure to give yourself time and grace in the morning, so you don’t start your day anxious and in a hurry.
Move Your Body in Sunshine
The best thing about summer is it’s the perfect time to get a workout in outside! Something as simple as going for a walk and getting a healthy amount of vitamin D can help boost your mood while also working your muscles.
I always say, if you’re not in the mood then it’s time to move. Moving your body boosts your endorphins, turning that frown upside down.
Enjoy Summer Events
Make your summer day a fun one. Summer is the time for outdoor events so check out a few of your town or neighboring towns’ websites to see what’s going on. Here are some suggestions of what to look for…
Summer Concert Series. These concerts are usually at outdoor concert venues and resorts.
Summer Movies. Now’s a great time to hit the heavily AC-cooled movie theater. With several new releases and even some oldies being brought back, giving you the chance to cool down and see a show on the big screen.
Plus, several places offer “movies in the park” in the late evenings. Remember to bring your bug repellant.
Ski Resort Activities. Many ski resorts stay open during the summer months, providing fun outdoor activities, like: mountain slides, coasters and pavilion games, bike trails, balloon riding, art shows, and food parties.
Some resorts may even keep some ski lifts open so you can ride it up the mountain to check out some amazing views.
Carnivals! It’s not summer without a good carnival – games, rides, tent shows, booths, and all the summertime treats – all topped off by a good firework show.
Soak up Summer at the Beach or Lake
Maybe big events aren’t your thing, and you want to keep your perfect summer day to the calm, peaceful outdoors. Heading out to the beach or a lake is a great way to have a relaxing, recharging summer day.
Grab your soft, stylish bamboo beach towel and sunscreen and, maybe, a good book. Take advantage of these beach or lake days while the weather’s still warm and bright. Not many enjoy a cold, rainy day at the beach.
