Touting Cariloha’s bamboo socks as the softest, coolest, cleanest, and greenest socks on the planet clearly comes across as an advertisement or sales line. Which it is. However, when customers put Cariloha’s bamboo products to the test in their own real-life scenarios; and the results support the product marketing, you have to agree that the bamboo benefits aren’t so outlandish after all. In fact, they’re right on target, which is what they were always meant to be. No false advertising here.
To help illustrate the point, here’s a recent blog post from a Cariloha customer, Milan Skrecek, who put the bamboo socks to the test in his recent Kona, Hawaii triathlon. His comments are indicative of so many others that we receive via phone and email on a daily basis.
“Before this starts to sound like a covert advertising ploy, there is a reason I’m writing this in my blog. I wanted to test out one of these products to see if they are actually good. We hear it all the time, “The best” this and “the best” that, I wanted to see for myself. One of Cariloha‘s newest products is Bamboo socks. Since Bamboo keeps you up to 3 degrees cooler than cotton AND wicks moisture away from the body, what better “real life” test on these socks than a Triathlon in beautiful Kona, Hawaii.
Since I was vacationing in Kailua Kona, Hawaii for 3 weeks, I signed up for the Post-Ironman Sprint Triathlon on October 30, 2011. It was a sprint Tri which entailed an 1/3 mile open water swim in Kona’s beautiful harbor, a 10 mile bike along stunning Ali’i Drive followed by a quick 2 mile run.
I obviously didn’t wear the sock during the swim, (a typical novice Triathlete mistake) but did rock them during the ride and run. Sure, it takes a couple extra seconds to slip on the sock but it’s well worth it during the ride AND especially during the run. The swim went off without a hitch and I rocked it out on the ride, battling with about 4 others till the turn around but then I laid the hammer down and dropped them net flicks and finished without them insight. On the run, I kept the pace high and finished strong. Enjoy the pics and video’s below…..”
