Cariloha this week opened its newest store in the city of Houston in the Lone Star state under store owners and business partners, Linda Wittingham (pictured above) and Tracy Young, who first became interested in opening a Cariloha store after visiting the Cariloha Aruba stores a couple years ago. This is the second Cariloha store in Houston and the only retailer in Texas selling exclusively clothing, bedding and bath goods made from bamboo.
Linda and Tracy have visited several Cariloha stores in anticipation for their own store, including Cariloha stores in South Carolina and several Cariloha stores in the Caribbean.
The Cariloha store is approximately 800 square feet and is located in Rice Village, a popular shopping destination for locals and tourists that’s about 10 minutes south of the downtown Houston area. The five surrounding zip codes of the store represent the wealthiest area in all of Texas.
The store is managed and staffed by local employees and will a shopping destination for both tourist and local clientele. Cariloha has been rapidly expanding its international and domestic presence for the past six years now with 16 corporately owned and 33 independently owned stores in 14 countries. Cariloha stores are found in Mexico, Grand Cayman, Jamaica, Barbados, Aruba, Curacao, Honduras, St. Maarten, Bahamas, Antigua, Bonaire and various cities throughout the continental U.S., Alaska and Hawaii.
Additional Cariloha store openings are planned throughout 2015 in Los Angeles; Falmouth, Jamaica; Destin, Florida; Hawaii and many more. Independently owned Cariloha stores are operated by licensed, contracted partners of Cariloha, LLC.
All Cariloha store guests receive a free bamboo lei (necklace) just for stopping by the store, which helps proliferate the bamboo, eco-friendly attitude even more. Cariloha staffers encourage visitors to touch and feel the bamboo-soft difference of their shirts, bed sheets, towels, and hand bags for themselves.
Welcome aboard to the Cariloha Houston Team!
