This past week, Cariloha opened its newest store on the beautiful Dutch-owned island of Bonaire in the Southern Caribbean. It turns out that the Dutch love bamboo as much as we do!
Located just a hundred yards from the cruise pier, the Cariloha store is attached to the existing Del Sol store (Cariloha sister brand) and is one of only a handful of promoted merchants in the entire port. The Cariloha store is part of the Harborside Mall, which is downtown on the waterfront — the sun sets right in front of the store. Gorgeous!
Both the new Cariloha store and the Del Sol store are managed by Bonaire local, Sushil (Sunny), and owned by the Grynsztein family, who also own and operate the Del Sol and Cariloha stores in Aruba, St. Maarten, and Curacao.
Bonaire is part of the ABC islands, Aruba , Bonaire, Curacao, and is the least inhabited. There are so few promoted stores in port which allows Cariloha to be highlighted as the most popular store in the port on a cruise ship day.
Bonaire is famous for windsurfing at Sorobon Beach, one of the best places to learn windsurfing in the world, and scuba diving. Most non-cruisers visit Bonaire to scuba dive their incredible reefs. The island is home to thousands of wild pink flamingos and a salt mine.
