Cariloha opened its second store on the island of Kauai this week in Lihue at the Anchor Cove Shopping Center. Located adjacent to the Marriott Kalapaki Beach Resort, JJ’s Broiler Restaurant, and the cruise ship terminal, the Cariloha store will be the only retail store in Lihue exclusively selling clothing, bedding, active wear, and bath goods made from eco-friendly bamboo.
Cariloha Anchor Cove store owners, Chris and Stephanie Davis, who also own and operate the Cariloha store in the Poipu Shopping Village in Poipu, initially became aware of Cariloha while on a cruise in the Southern Caribbean and first visited the Cariloha store in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico.
“Anchor Cove is a natural fit for Cariloha because of its proximity to the cruise port,” said the Davises. We saw the opportunity to move into a great location that would allow us to cater to the cruise and local demographic, and we took it. With this store being our second location on Kauai, we look forward to expanding our ability to provide Lihue tourists and locals a unique, eco-friendly shopping option that fits perfectly in the islands.”
All Cariloha store guests receive a free bamboo lei just for stopping by the store so that everyone can share in the bamboo, eco-friendly experience. Even though the store is located near the Nawiliwili cruise port, the Davises welcome all locals to experience their crazy-soft Cariloha bamboo products and are happy to provide a Kama’aina discount to all island residents.
Cariloha staffers encourage visitors to touch and feel the bamboo-soft difference of their shirts, bed, sheets, towels, and hand bags for themselves. Bamboo apparel contains several qualities that are much better than other fabrics. Bamboo is twice as soft to the touch as cotton; it keeps you up to 3 degrees cooler than cotton; bamboo is naturally odor resistant, hypoallergenic and moisture wicking, which comes in really handy on a hot, humid day.
