This is the third Cariloha store to open in the state of California – the other two are located in San Diego and San Francisco – seems to be a trend with cities that start with ‘S’.
New store owners, Sandi and Jon Milby, are also long-time owners of Cariloha’s sister retail brand, Del Sol. The Cariloha store is located on Copenhagen Street, which is considered the most tourist-trafficked street in town. The Del Sol store is right around the corner from Cariloha, giving both retail brands the opportunity to cross-promote one other.
The store looks beautiful, and the staff has received several compliments from people walking by telling them how great the store looks and how much they’ve looked forward to its opening. The locals are happy to see a new, creatively designed store in the area instead of just another Solvang-souvenir-type store.
Even though it rained half the day on the store’s grand opening, the sales projections were nearly doubled, which signifies a promising start for Cariloha in Solvang. After a year in the making, Jon and Sandi are really excited to have this new Cariloha store up and running.
