This past weekend, Cariloha opened a new store in the beautiful city of Freeport on the island of Grand Bahamas of the northwest Bahamas.
New store owners and managers, David and Paula Fingland, are thrilled with the flood of customers who have come out during their first few days of opening, and are looking forward to even more exciting days ahead. This is the second Cariloha store in the Bahamas and the first in Freeport.
The Cariloha store shares the same square footage with its sister brand, Del Sol. Both retail brands are merchandised in their own distinct space, which helps tailor each brand’s shopping experiences to its own clientele.
Freeport is the second most populous city in the Bahamas and is only 65 miles from Palm Beach, Florida. Tourism usually tops over a million visitors a year, and several cruise ships stop weekly at the island.
Much of the tourist industry is centered on the seaside suburb of Lucaya, owing its name to the pre-Columbian Lucayan inhabitants of the island evidence of whom has been found on the island.
The city is often promoted as “Freeport/Lucaya”. Most hotels on the island are located along the southern shore facing the Northwest Providence Channel. Primary shopping venues for tourists include the International Bazaar near downtown Freeport and the Port Lucaya Market Place in Lucaya.
Welcome aboard, Cariloha Freeport!
