Cariloha this week launched its fall-winter 2015 graphic tee collection for men and women to Cariloha stores worldwide. Shirts feature a trending series of vintage-tourist, marine-life, and geo-regional prints – all showcased on Cariloha’s exclusive, signature bamboo tees and styles.
Available exclusively at Cariloha stores and online, this collection contains 12 women’s designs and 12 men’s designs – all featured on a variety of new bamboo shirt colors and bamboo shirt styles.
Consumer demand for regional and U.S. state prints continues to grow, and this launch answers the call. “We’re starting out with three U.S. state prints (Florida, California and Texas), which will harmonize nicely with our existing Hawaii and Caribbean-specific shirts,” said Scott Brady, Cariloha AVP of Communications. “While all states, regions and locations are equally important and exciting, these particular iconic states and designs are resonating the most with our growing global audience.”
Inspiration for these particular shirt designs come from multiple places, and we’ve gone behind the scenes, interviewing our amazingly talented artists, to give you the inside scoop on these bamboo beauties: “The greatest inspiration for these recent designs comes from life itself,” said Kent Barney, Cariloha Art Director. “I try to notice and remember things that catch my eye. Lately I’ve been drawn to the subtle textures you can create by allowing a little bit of the shirt to show through the ink.”
The “Tropical Angles” design is Cariloha artist, David Marlaire’s favorite from this recent collection. “I like the way it draws you in by combining big, bold shapes with a subtle background image. I also like the multiple colors in the design, I think it has a nice harmony to it. The overall feel of the design has an inviting sense of relaxation and escape. I think it captures all this in a timeless style.”
Cariloha’s irresistibly soft shirts are made from eco-friendly bamboo and are 100% guaranteed satisfaction for quality, durability and supreme softness. Cariloha Bamboo fabric repels odors and allergens naturally, is 3 degrees cooler than cotton and wicks moisture away from your body.
“Overall the designs are a collaborative effort,” said David Marlaire and Zach Clough Cariloha artists. “We work from a list of ideas and reference images that are generated internally. We typically get a lot of inspiration from things around us in our own personal lives. We also like to tap into music and art when working on certain stylized illustrations.”
When our outstanding Cariloha artists aren’t busy creating beautiful designs for our ultra-soft bamboo tees, they’re either doing illustration work, sketches, or landscape paintings, mostly using pen, ink and oils.
