Mitchell Historic Properties Welcomes New Businesses Opening Just in Time for Summer
Shoppers can enjoy three new businesses that are opening late this May in Galveston’s historic downtown. Texas Cowgirls, Del Sol, and Cariloha are leasing newly renovated space from Mitchell Historic Properties in the Dargan and Tobyn building on the Strand near the newly opened Fuddruckers located adjacent to popular Saengerfest Park.
Fuddruckers had a soft opening on January 31 just in time for the first weekend of the downtown Mardi Gras festivities. The popular restaurant is best known for its “World Famous Burgers.” Fuddruckers is owned by Houston-based Luby’s and offers island visitors a convenient casual-dining experience in the Armour Building at 23rd and Strand.
Texas Cowgirls is scheduled to open on May 30 in the Dargan & Tobyn building at 2226 Strand near the intersection of 23rd and Strand. The shop will feature Texas branded items ranging from housewares and home goods to clothing and accessories. Texas Cowgirls is an excellent shopping option for out of state visitors to collect Texas themed memorabilia and gifts.
Cariloha and Del Sol are also scheduled to open on May 30. The shops will share a space in the Dargan and Tobyn building at 2226 Strand near the intersection of 23rd and Strand. Cariloha specializes in high-end bamboo goods ranging from housewares, handbags and accessories to ultra-soft bedding and apparel. Because it is made from bamboo, Cariloha’s inventory is eco-conscious and entirely renewable.
Del Sol stocks unique, sun-activated apparel and accessories. Ranging from clothing and handbags to nail polish, Del Sol’s inventory boasts stylish designs indoors for both men and women that come alive with color when exposed to sunlight. They even carry a unique line of Disney products for young Disney cruisers looking for a little something extra to help them stand out.
