Cariloha Friday! And, President’s Day weekend! With Monday being a national holiday and paid day off for most U.S.-based employees, there’s an excuse for everyone to put on a party face and enjoy an extra long weekend. May we recommend picking up a stovepipe hat and a few American flags at your local party-supply store to add even more President’s Day magic to your Monday festivities. On second thought, sleeping in just a few more hours on Monday sounds very presidential to me.
If celebrating President’s Day doesn’t inspire your patriotic side, then maybe consider this weekend’s party list, which has something for everyone to party Cariloha style. Remember to hit those hot President’s Day sales, too.
Celebrate everything from National PTA Day and My Dad’s Birthday(today), Happy Birthday Dad!, National Crab Stuffed Flounder Day (tomorrow), International Friendship Day (Sunday), President’s Day and National Cherry Pie Day (Monday), and Love Your Pet Day (Tuesday). Round up your friends and eat some cherry and apple pie in honor of your favorite presidents.
Another weekend to get inspired. Have fun and don’t forget to wrap up in your Cariloha bamboo-soft clothing, sheets or towels along the way.

This past summer, my eight-month-pregnant wife and I, along with our 18-month-old son, traveled to New England to vacation and to visit family and friends. We traveled north from Boston up to Hildene, Manchester, Vermont to see the Robert Todd Lincoln estate, home of the only surviving child of President Abraham Lincoln. The museum estate overlooks the Green Mountains of Vermont and houses one of three original stovepipe hats worn by President Lincoln himself. It’s a beautiful, quiet, peaceful place that I highly recommend visiting.
Because of this lovely trip, I will always think of Abraham Lincoln and President’s Day in a different light, particularly remembering my 18-month-old son wander up the path to Lincoln’s mansion wearing a souvenir-shop stovepipe hat that covered his entire head. Happy President’s Day!
