by Today is the day. The day that ultra-runner, Landon Cooper, has chosen to kick off his labor-of-love journey across the United States of America to raise money for cancer research. It’s a 3,000-mile run that begins at the Golden Gate Bridge and ends at the White House in Washington DC on July 4.
Landon will be running, on average, 21 miles per day over the next 150 days to realize this goal. Throughout his run, he’ll have his phone turned on and tucked inside his running jersey at all times, receiving texts and messages from friends and supporters of cancer survivors and victims and keeping them close to his heart.
You can follow each day of his journey here, and you can dedicate a day of his run (here) to one of your own loved ones who has fought, survived or passed away from cancer.
During the journey, Cooper will be looking to raise at least $100,000 for Miles 2 Give, which was founded in memory of his friend Ashley Davis, who died in 2011 at the age of 23 after battling Ewing’s sarcoma cancer.
