Cariloha Barbados opened as the 14th Cariloha store worldwide. This corporately owned store is located directly inside the cruise ship terminal, across the walkway from the Del Sol store.
Former Del Sol manager, Leandre Culpepper, has been promoted from Del Sol manager to Island General Manager over both retail stores. Everyone who gets on or off the cruise ships must walk by this 640-sq-ft store. The Barbados staff, along with Cariloha Store Designer, Sabrina Westbrook, and Cariloha Regional Sales Director, Landon John, worked 10-12 hour days and through the weekend to get the new store opened.
According to terminal leasing agents and cruise ship guests, this new Cariloha store has been deemed as the most attractive store in the terminal. Neighboring retailers, who visited the new location on its opening day, could only say one thing…“Wow!” The store’s opening sales day was better than Del Sol’s previous record on the same cruise ship, but without Del Sol losing any sales.
Barbados is the easternmost island in the Lesser Antilles portion of the Caribbean. The store is located in Bridgetown, which is Barbados’ capital and main city. Barbados’ far eastern location puts the country just outside the principal hurricane strike zone. Its southern and western coasts are popular with their light-blue Caribbean water and white and pinkish sandy beaches. Shopping districts are popular in Barbados, with ample duty-free shopping. Other attractions include wildlife reserves, jewelry and clothing stores, scuba diving, helicopter rides, golf, festivals (the largest being the annual Crop Over festival July/Aug), sightseeing, and cave exploration.
