The 14 Best Luxury Bathrobes of 2024, Tested and Reviewed
By Barbara Bellesi Zito
We tested 38 luxe bathrobes to find the most comfortable for travel and relaxing.
Nothing says, “I’m ready to relax,” quite like a comfortable bathrobe. Whether you like yours to be like a giant fluffy towel that you can wear right after a shower or bath or you prefer to be draped in the fabric equivalent of a warm hug while lounging, there’s a robe out there for you.
Searching for the best luxury bathrobes might not be the most onerous task on your list, but we’ve made it even easier for you. Over a two-week testing period at home, we tried out 38 bathrobes ranging from silky kimonos to sumptuous spa robes.
We made our selections based on quality, comfort, design, and fit, and continued testing our favorites for an additional three months.
Keep reading to learn about all of the robes that will now make it supremely difficult to ever leave the house again — unless you decide to pack one for a relaxing spa retreat or beachside getaway, of course.
Best Quick-Drying Bathrobe – Cariloha
Why We Love It
- The bamboo fabric is sustainable and feels incredibly soft and cozy while still being quick-drying.
What to Consider
- The belt loops seem a bit too delicate for the long haul.
As a fabric, bamboo is seemingly infused with superpowers. It stops odors and allergens in their tracks, feels supremely soft, and is made from sustainable fibers. So it’s natural that we’d love this bamboo robe from Cariloha. We loved how soft and luxurious this material felt, though it’s got enough heft to keep us cozy. This robe felt like it was made for us.
The sleeves landed right at the wrists, and the length was below the knees. It draped well without restricting our movement, and we liked how the belt was able to stay tied securely. The interior is soft but more absorbent than the outer material, which means you can wear it straight out of the bath or shower to dry off.
We liked the roomy pockets on either side that were perfect for stowing our phone. If we had to improve anything, it would be to reinforce the delicate belt loops, but that won’t stop us from reaching for this robe day after day.

Our Testing Process
We tested 38 bathrobes, wearing each one at least five times during a two-week period. We slipped them on after showering to note their absorbency and wore them while lounging around to note their comfort. We also washed each robe according to the care label at least once during testing and observed any changes in the material or fit. We made the final selections for our best luxury bathrobes list based on quality, comfort, design, and fit.
